I found this old Catwoman drawing I did sometime ago on the HDD and decided to updated it a bit, this Catwoman is based on the Julie Newmar version from the classic TV show Batman with Adam West.

Edited: The original was a bit rushed, now it's more finished. Press download to view at full resolution ;)

I really like this look of Catwoman actually, having seen the original myself, it's funny cause she slightly reminds me of the new Catwoman in Dark Knight Rises for some reason. Or of course correctly, the other way around.

The scales? better question, how did she get a outfit like that? Miss Hathaway's outfit is cool, but it doesn't really seem like catwoman it seems like a black widow thing, if it had a bit more uniqueness and still fitted in the movie, it would have been better, Newmars outfit I like a lot more actually, but I can't really imagine it in the movie, it just doesn't seem that.. I don't know.. Fitting with the whole tone of the movie, however the mask hathaway wears is so weird, I don't really understand it's exact purpose, it's not covering her face, it's not like she really has a secret identity, it's completely unneeded.

Maybe Gothams's underworld has their own answer to Edna Mode to make their outfits for them...? (Rather than the stupid idea of Michelle Pfeiffer making her own costume out of a cut-up coat in 'Batman Returns' - with the result that in a multi-million dollar blockbuster the principal villainess arrives at the party in a tatty and amateurish-looking Catwoman suit that would have got her laughed out of competion at Comic-Con - she could simply have STOLEN herself a professionally-made catsuit or a slinky black wet-look unitard simply by breaking into a local sex shop or sports goods outfitter).

To return to 'The Dark Knight Rises'. My other main quibble is that they gave in to the temptation to do the obvious and put her in thigh-high boots - and those heels!!! Miss Hathway would look far more like a professional cat burglar and less like a dominatrix if she'd worn calf-length boots like Eartha Kitt. (If she still wanted to injure people with her heels the stilettos on Julie Newmar's ankle boots would have done the job just as well).

But when all's said and done, my biggest complaint about Miss Hathaway's Catw- I mean, Selina Kyle, is that in a film that's nearly three hours long, she simply not on screen enough...!
